I've recently bought Japanese volumes 47 and 64 with of course two the most significant NaruHina chapters 437 and 615.

I don't know why, but I decided to write down Hinata's confession in Japanese for all of you with English transcription. Starting from "I used to always cry and give up...".

Recelty I've watched final episodes of Smallville again and today I've found a collage with Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane from the wedding scene. The expressions they did there and frame's angle reminded me of something a lot. When I added NaruHina to this collage, the result was amazing because of how similar they are. the comparison is nice but imo I thinkthe panel with hinata is the wrong panel. I think you should have used the panel where hinata starts to say naruto's hand I big and manly, the look that hinata gives is the same as the one lois gave clark

You should never trust google translator (or any other), when it comes to asian languages, becuase electronic translators doesn't count contex for hieroglyphs. But I should admint, sometimes translation looks hilarious =)

Google does a better job to be honest. The way they translate such things is taken literally, but when it comes to Asiatic languages, emotions, impressions and the way you emphasize on the words counts as well. So of course, it's not translated properly.

btw side note, neji doesn't JUST mean screw, but yea, it's pretty hilarious xD

You know, it's actually looks really cute. Mito was some kind of sensei for Kushina and was wife of Hokage. Kushina became wife of Hokage. Kurenai is Hinata's sensei and she fell in love with son of Hokage and same did Hinata :3

when I saw and read kushina's comment and studied it when the chapter with it came out, I remembered the similaritiy between hinata and kushina and btw we don't know if kurenai and asuma were married but I do know that kurenai fell for the son of the third while hinata fell for the son of the fourth

Before, I did not pay attention to Hinata. I did not take her love seriously . But the episode with Pain made me change my mind . Hinata really loves Naruto. She was always on his side. This whole page of humorous frames were made just for comedy relief. This chapter has "Team 7" as a name. It doesn't matter, that Minato is intelligent, there is war going on and he just asked a question based on little information he saw: a girl was healing Naruto, so he asked IF she is his girlfriend (Minato asked Sakura), while Naruto started making fun out of Sakura and asnwering for her. Sakura's superman punch to Naruto is a clear "NO!!!" to Minato's answer. Naruto confirmed by his own words in chapter 632, that he was making fun out of Sakura. Don't be NaruSaku and don't take A JOKE so serious as they are. The fact, that Minato compared bad habit of Kushina to Sakura has nothing good for NarSak pairing, because Kushina wants Naruto to have a girl, who has her good habits and this is Hinata.

Anyone who pays attention to pairings in this series knows that Lee likes Sakura. Keep in mind that just because you may or may not think something matters doesn't mean others don't know about it.

Also, why would you think Kishimoto has "forgotten" Hinata's feelings when he brings it up most of the time Hinata has appeared in this entire war arc? There isn't a single arc in the entire series where Hinata appears where he doesn't bring up her feelings for Naruto. In fact, he's brought up Hinata's feelings for Naruto twice since chapter 631.

Minato asked the question because he doesn't know much of anything about his son's life and is curious about it. Clearly when Minato was Naruto's current age, Minato and Kushina were already a couple. Since Minato saw Sakura with Naruto, he was curious if they were together. Minato compared Sakura to Kushina because (1) Sakura did act like Kushina at the moment and (2) if Kishimoto introduced some other female for Minato to know then he'd have another character that he'd have to spend time trying to explain. Remember, there is only one female that we know Minato has dealt with (even though they weren't genin teammates) and that's Kushina. We don't even know Minato's genin teammates names--much less who they are. We were only given their designs. We don't know anything about Kushina's genin teammates or sensei. We don't know if Minato ever interacted with Tsunade (who is probably the only other female already known in the series he might've been able to compare Sakura to; but I've never paid enough attention to when Tsunade left the village & how that coincides with when Minato would've been trained by Jiraiya--as it's possible Tsunade left before Jiraiya had a genin team). Yes, Minato is insightful and intelligent. There was really nothing wrong with the Kushina comparison considering it is accurate. Kushina and Sakura are similar. They both care in their own way but will get violent when annoyed.

Kishimoto will mess with those that base development on superficial things until the series ends. Why is the fact that Minato compared Sakura's behavior to Kushina a problem? Are you ignoring the fact that Minato also reiterated what Kushina said about Naruto (Naruto is practically a clone of Kushina)? I could never see chapter 631 as a problem because all it does is re-enforce that (1) Naruto knows he's not getting with Sakura and (2) Sakura has never had any romantic interest in Naruto. All chapter 631 did was remind some people that no pairing is official no matter how close a specific pairing might be. Kishimoto knew when chapter 1 was released what the end pairing(s) were going to be. The only thing he didn't know was exactly how he was going to tell the story in detail (which is true for any long running series that wasn't written out in full before publishing). Additionally, Kishimoto loves creating "drama" for those that focus on superficial things. I will always consider Minato's comments to be superficial because Minato is not Naruto, not Hinata, etc. When it comes to pairings, the only things that matter are the interactions between the characters involved in the pairing itself. Comments or opinions of others do not matter.

Worry not my friend. First off you're right Hinata does indeed truly love Naruto and Naruto (yes he may be a bit oblivious on occasion) can tell the difference "now" between someone just saying it and someone meaning it e.g. Hinata's confession vs Sakura's fakefession. Just look at his facial expression when Hinata confesses, and I strongly believe it was because he experienced this true confession of love that he was able to see through Sakura's fake one (and all of this helped with his eye-opening process). Kishimoto has never stated he wants NS (believe me someone here would've heard of it) and he certainly never showed it. Have someone read the manga without knowing Naruto said he liked Sakura in part 1 (when he was still very young btw) and I'm sure they'll tell you the author obviously is in favour of NH. All the development is right there, Kishimoto did not let her feelings fade into the background because he doesn't want them to, he constantly keeps bringing them up to the point where Naruto is aware of them now and you know what? Naruto hasn't rejected her. It has been quite the opposite, to the point where the guy even holds her hand. Examining all of this, it would be hard not to think NH is exactly what the author wants for endgame.

Concerning 631, as you've said it's a joke and Minato (as our comrades have clearly mentioned) was working with limited information. The girl he saw was communicating with his son on a level closer than a random medic nin, they're both around the same age and they look comfortable with each other. As a father that hasn't been around it's quite understandable that he makes that assumption (and both Naruto and more Sakura clear up the confusion right after). He compares Sakura to Kushina because they're similar in their temper but that doesn't really change anything, They could even be the same blood type, share the same interests and be the same height but that doesn't mean anything really. Naruto and Minato are different people, there is no divine rule saying he will or must end up with someone exactly like his mother. Kushina said to find someone like her and you know what we know about her? She loves Naruto unconditionally...I know someone else around his age that does ;).

I understand your worry but look at it this way. Kishimoto created the potential for both NH and NS, however development wise which one has he been following up? I'm sure he wouldn't have put all the thought and effort into it just to flush it all down the toilet in the end, do you?

Even though you've already gotten great replies, I want to answer too. To your firsts questions, it's simple, because he doesn't want NarSak. I don't know where did you get that he wants it, but an author who wants to make a certain pairing canon wouldn't constantly sink that ship the way Kishimoto keeps sinking NarSak further and further.

The whole situation with Minato was pure comedy. His girlfriend question, to me, was to showcase his goofy personality, just as much as him naming the jutsus with ridiculously long names was. It was just to show us more about Minato, how he can be naive and a little bit silly. About him saying Sakura reminded him of Kushina, he's been thinking about Kushina a lot. He constantly thinks of her and says the things about Naruto that also remind him of Kushina, so it's normal for Minato to be reminded of certain traits about his wife, and in Sakura's case, she reminded him about Kushina's anger outbursts which made him laugh nervously. It's really not something NarSak has going on for it, the scene itself meant nothing for the "pairing".
