Well, some people say 'college' and 'university' because they really are two different things, but in general conversation we usually say college for both university and college. Did that make sense?

Ehm, well, so basically it's the same thing? Over here we only have college for MBO and university for both HBO and WO (just look it up xD) Could it be something like our system?

Well, 'college' is more like your smaller higher education that doesn't really classify as a University. For example, a community college. It usually costs less and it's easier to get in. A University is the more expensive route of higher education and usually has a large campus and is a mainstream for sports, better education, etc. I go to a University that has 30,000 students, the biggest one in Louisiana, but I usually refer to it in a conversation as 'I'm in college'.
