Anyone excited about Hinata's new move? If so...here's a theory Empty Anyone excited about Hinata's new move? If so...here's a theory

I know I sure am. Kishi introduced the twin lion fist way back in 437 and not much was seen of it. At first when I read that chapter I thought she used it against Pein, (and the anime didn’t help) but that actually doesn’t seem to be the case. Originally she attack Pein with her normal taijutsu and when that doesn’t work she pulls out the gentle step. Before we get to see what it actually does, she gets shot down.

Why introduce a move and then not show what it does?
Answer: To give it more impact later.

Another misconception is that Hinata needs to have her fist clenched when activating it (this is how it was shown in the anime). I believe that it is activated and used with open palms. Take a look again at 633 right after Hinata finishes her 64 fist. Her palms are open yet again as she creates the twin lion fist.

Well what does that mean?
Answer: Nothing much beside that she is quick at activating it. Like something she’s practiced over and over. It also plays into how it will be used.

Now what will she do with the twin lion fist. A lot of speculation goes on about how it will be used with the vacuum wall to create shooting lions heads at things or it will be used with the Kaiten. However I don’t she will do either of these. If she wanted to shoot them, she could have done it at her fight with Pein. I’m not sure Hinata knows how to do the Kaiten because it hasn’t been shown in the manga, and when her father needed help with it he asked for Nejis’.

So what will Hianta do with it?
Answer: Exactly what she says. The 64 palms.

A lot of neigh sayers will claim that oh she only took 1 Juubi clone down while everyone one else took out so much more. Well, the Hyuuga’s are internal taijutsu specialist going against creatures that are considerably bigger than them. It’s understandable if she is having a bit of a difficult time. However the twin lion fist will change that.

It is possible to note that the twin lion fist is considerably powerful without even being shown. After Hinata activates it in her fight against Pein, he knocks her out instead of dealing with it. In 633, the Juubi clone is seen visibly shaking as they begin to form.

What’s the big deal with the twin lion fist being added to the 64 palm.
Answer: It will change the dynamic of fighting style.

Think of the name: The Gentle Step Twin Lion Fist. Not the Gentle Fist.

The Hyuuga’s taijutsu is essentially based off of baguazhang, a circular type of fighting style. Now imagine if we could change the dynamic from circular to linear and the pieces start falling into place. A more linear type of internal fighting would open up new possibilities for Hinata. It would be considered similar to Xingyiquan which “is characterized by aggressive, seemingly linear movements and explosive power”. (Wikipedia)
Now let’s think about how Hinata’s internal monologue revolves around moving forward even if just one step. It can mean both mentally (as with Naruto), and physically (as with her ability). Imagine a 64 palm strike that can move from one target to another after each strike.

What does that mean in the long run?
Answer: We’ll just have to wait and find out. I'm voting for a super awesome Naruhina scene. I mean, whenever Hinata has a significant development, Naruto is there.

Well that’s my 2 cents on Hinata’s new ability. Of course I expect Kishi to go over to Kakashi/Obito fight next because he likes to tease. Let me know what you guys think! (I give credit to Aim64c for the idea and also to a forum I read here!) Sorry, I don’t know how to put pictures up yet, but I figure that since you’ve probably read these scenes over and over, you know where to find them. Feel free to post this elsewhere. I don’t have a tumblr or a blog or even an account on NB. Just give credit if you do. Thank you all for reading!

I like how Kishi made it so you know, Hinata ain't done with her ass-kicking and ability. I'm definitely excited to see her use her 64 palms with the Twin Lion fists. I know Kishi is planning to do something with her, otherwise she would've done the 64 palms with the twin lion fists in the same chapter just real quick. I'm glad my Hinatabby is special~ I'm so excited, she is so going to become even more bad-ass.

I've been waiting since Pain arc to see these kitties in action!

I agree that it will be a different fighting style, perhaps Hinata created it to overcome her inability to see tenketsu so instead of pinpoint attacks it's just one huge crushing blow to the chakra system.

About the Kaiten, I think Hinata has it.
While it's true the first time the Kaiten is used it's only Hiashi and Neji, but, after Hinata joins them upfront, the Hyuuga perform the Kaiten again right after. The way this second scene is drawn let's us see 1 and a half Kaitens, not letting us see what Hinata is doing here (I assume the two Kaitens shown here are Hiashi and Neji). This is strange because we know Hinata is up front with them and stayed with them, and in this second Kaiten scene both attacks are performed next to each other telling us that at least two Hyuugas stayed close to each other.

It doesn't really make sense to put Hinata up front, emphasize that she is there and have Naruto acknowledge that she is on the front line, have Hiashi not mind that Hinata is there (and reassure Naruto that the Hyuugas are the strongest), have the Hyuuga perform the Kaiten again just to say "Nah, Hinata can't do Kaiten lol she walked away off-panel. She's just there to do Kyuushous" when it's canon fact that the Kyuushous are too slow to be a proper counter for the barrage of Toothpick no Jutsu. By the time we see Hinata again, we also see Hiashi and Neji, both of whom are not doing the Kaiten.

Not to mention that in Part 1, Hiashi is more impressed Neji knows the 64 palms than the Kaiten, calling him a genius that surpassed the Main Family right after he does it.

Woah, I wrote too much on this lol. I might be wrong, but I am a shameless Hyuuga and Hinatard so I'll just keep believing this even if canon proves me wrong. Anyone excited about Hinata's new move? If so...here's a theory 1461727051

Two nice theory posts. Thanks for sharing Aim64c's post. Can you provide a link to where you got it from next time, Ponyta?

Senpai, I didn't even notice that there was even more than one kaiten in that panel.

That's a very good point Senpai! I didn't even notice! I keep laughing at the "walked off panel quote" !

@Yamasaki-here(points up) is the link. It's in a forum so you have to scroll down a bit. I don't exactly agree to everything he says, but a lot of what he says makes sense. I'm also really fond of his taosit theory which can be found here:

Haha Twin Steps! Well met. I actually really respect you and your theories! I became really interested in looking up Hyuuga theories after that expression she gave to Sasuke when he arrived on the battlefield. How did that end up on me writing about Hinata's ability well...when you start looking up theories about Hinata you find that they can all intertwine in different but similar ways.

A week before this chapter came out I became really interested in her twin step, because let's face it, Hinata hasn't really had a battle scene since part one. The one scene she does have shows her move but doesn't show what it does. Then this chapter came out and I was super excited about her technique but dissapointed when I looked online that not everyone shared the same sentiments. So after joining this forum and sleeping on the idea, I decided that if it was something I was passionate about, I wanted to share my views with others.

For you to consider me a rival is an honor! I shall rotate my hat in Ash style at your challenge!
