Is the Moon Eye Genjutsu already in affect?

I have a theory is that the Juubi Genjutsu may be starting to take affect-
1) Sasuke's other goal was to 'restore the Uchiha to their former glory.' That is something he can do as Hokage and out of the blue he just announces he wants the job with no pre-warning and no prior desire for the job..
2) Naruto and Sakura want the band, er, the team back to how it used to be. Sasuke just showed up and instantly rejoined without any of the wangst that goes on within Team 7.
3) Neji's death is similar to how his father died - protecting the family he loves. No doubt Neji wanted his death to be like Hizashi's.
4) I know I'm going to get a lot of flak but - Hinata declared she will hold Naruto's hand after the war and walk side by side and she just did it before the war is over. And now we see her get rid of what's left of her self-doubt as she uses 64-Palms.

Seems to me there is a lot of 'happy coincidences' that border on 'wish fulfillment'.

Nope. If that was true, why isn't Rin around who is the main person that Obito wants alive?

If that was true, why are they still fighting at all?

Also, #3 makes no sense. Neji wouldn't want to die. Neji would want the cage bird seal gone.

Team 7 doesn't have time for angst (though it would really only possibly be between Sakura & Sasuke as Naruto already knows about Itachi and understands why Sasuke originally chose to do what he did) as they have a much larger problem called the Juubi to deal with right now. As Hashirama pointed out (and Shikamaru somewhat echoed), now isn't the time for your issues as they have a war to win first. After that is done, then worry about your issues.

The "happy coincidences" has to do with the fact that at the end of the day this is a feel good story and it's going to have a mostly happy ending. Outside of a few deaths, this story has never been "dark" and has always promised a "happy ending." The series is getting close to the end, so the "happy ending" needs to be established so that it doesn't seem as if it came out of nowhere. That's all.

Not saying its in full effect, just bits and pieces. Enough to do small 'personal wish fulfillment' but not enough to outright affect reality like Obito and Madara desire or to the point Rin shows up.

As for the Birdcage Seal, its apparent the Hyuga have been working on that problem for some time. What Hiashi told his Edo Tensei'd brother indicates the clan had been working on doing something about. One cousin nearly outright killing another cousin had to be a giant wake-up call.

Not necessarily. They can get along and respect each other more (which is what Hiashi discussed with Hizashi), but that doesn't mean that they're getting rid of the cage bird seal. There's been absolutely nothing in the manga about the seal since the Naruto/Neji fight. Hiashi only spoke about the fact that Hizashi died as a choice instead of due to the "orders" of others.

Obito said that it will not go into effect until midnight (and no, it's not midnight yet as Kishimoto will let us know when we get close to that deadline as he has emphasized it more than enough) and after the Juubi has had its final transformation. There's no "partial" genjutsu effect. It just doesn't make any sense.

There's no small personal wish fulfillment going on. This is a feel good story and it's going to have a happy ending for as many characters as possible. That means certain things need to happen and be set up to happen. Many of those things are going on right now.

Everyone that was honest with themselves knew that Sasuke was going to come back and that he was going to end up on the same side as Naruto & company. Everyone that is honest with themselves should have always known what the endgame pairings are going to be from Part 1. The only reason to be surprised about any of those things is to guilty of missing the big picture by focusing too much on details. Yeah, details matter, but not to the exclusion of the overall story being planned.

Interesting theory and I wouldn't put it past Kishi. I don't think it's in effect yet though.
