One morbid thing Hinata and Naruto have in common.
When we talk about the things the two have in common we think of things like their crappy early years, their nindo, and so on. However there is one thing is that not mentioned much and that is the first time how they both were nearly killed in a fight and its was the first time both of them were truly on the brink of dying and for Naruto he didn't have Kurama to heal/save him.
Hinata it was of course during her fight against Neji -

Naruto it was during his fight against Kabuto -

Both were directly hit with attacks that affected the chakra flow to their hearts. For Hinata it was Neji who did the attack and Kabuto explains on this page what he did to Naruto-

And of course both had heart attacks because of it and nearly died and needed a type of CPR to be brought back.
Yes its a morbid connection between Hinata and Naruto but its a connection none the less.
Other things about those fights that are similar-
Kabuto and Neji trashed talked the hell out of Hinata and Naruto.
A female ninja were the first to help Hinata and Naruto when they collapsed. Kurenai for Hinata and Tsunade for Naruto.
The Nindo was the heart of the battles as the result of the aforementioned trash talking. Hinata was embolded by Naruto's encouragement and said she will no longer give up and declared the Nindo to be her own. Naruto told Kabuto that he until he becomes Hokage, he won't die which was a reaffirmation of the Nindo.

When Naruto was fighting Neji, there was a moment he was down coughing blood and Hinata who was watching in the stadium coughed blood at the same time and her wound she had while fighting Neji reopened.
That's a connection which could fit to this "morbid thing" Naruto and Hinata have in common.

Excellent point. And it was Kabuto who healed Hinata at the stadium.Irielo wrote:When Naruto was fighting Neji, there was a moment he was down coughing blood and Hinata who was watching in the stadium coughed blood at the same time and her wound she had while fighting Neji reopened.

I even forgot that Kabuto healed her. Thank you for pointing that out. I don't know if this example could fit but when Naruto came back to his normal state during his fight against Pein, he thought about Hinata who was thinking about him at the same time while being bad injured.Graeystone wrote:Excellent point. Naruto could not see Hinata getting beaten that way by Neji, the same way Hinata could not see Naruto getting beaten by her cousin. The same thing happened when Naruto was going to be taken away by Pein. Hinata could not accept to lose him. She did not want him to die.
Therefore, one of the aspect which connects Naruto and Hinata is when death is at the doorstep, as if love and death follow each other. Blood is like a symbol of love and death at the same time: Naruto making a vow on Hinata's blood, both coughing blood (Naruto vs Neji), Hinata losing her blood while fighting Pein to protect the one she loves...

Never noticed this one. Not a bad point.
