Iruka is awesome
Seriously. Let's give some props to this guy. He's awesome and the sheer fact that he was one of the first to ever show any love towards Naruto is what made Naruto who he is. I mean, come on, outside of anime filler, the only flaws he shows are a reluctance to let Naruto become or advance as a ninja, which was not out of hate but out of fear that he'd get hurt or killed, and that's about it. He's a great father figure to Naruto and I'm really glad they touched on that in Road to Ninja.

I haven't seen Road to Ninja yet, unfortunately :<
But Iruka is awesome. I'm so glad Naruto has someone like him in his life <3

It's fairly good. Bit odd, but it is an AU and all.

Obviously Iruka is one hell of an awesome character. The only thing about him is that people in the Naruto fandom like to judge characters on their strenght and Iruka-sensei so happens to be on a low level even though he's a Chuunin;. But, have we really seen Iruka's abilities?!? Not even once right?

I wish Iruka was actually in the war......
but, off topic, Iruka seemed kinda like a douche in RTN.

Other than filler, no not really. The databooks do say he's one of the more intelligent in the series, though.

I kinda thought so, but I think it was more of a situation that yet again, he didn't want Naruto to get higher ranked and thus risk death more. And he did have a point, Naruto does need to be a chunin first. He's got the power of a god, and while he knows how to use it now, he still doesn't exactly have leadership skills and that's where most ninja learn them, as chunin. I think Iruka was justified, though he could have been a bit less douchey about it. I also don't think he quite caught on to how bad Naruto's mood was and what specifically caused it.

I love Iruka-sensei, and I'd like to think that Kakashi does too.
On a serious note, he's a very kind man, and I wish people would stop calling him a fodder, as he did change Naruto's life for the better.

I often refer to him as 'Papa Bear', because he still somewhat feels responsible for Naruto. Gave him that nickname back when he started to object to Naruto being put in the Chuunin exams, lol.

Kakashi'd have to stop loving his porn so much, though. But yeah, you're right. I hate it when people do that. But then, a lot of characters are called fodder.

Yeah, I agree. Iruka's a good dad in spite of not being a dad.
